The solution to handling contaminated mail is not by containment alone but by containment paired with environmental control. American Safe Air, Inc., has pioneered the design of a Negative Pressure Mail Room (NPMR). The negative pressure environment provides complete indoor air circulation while the downdraft system simultaneously contains potential contaminants within the room and prevents contamination of the entire facility at a rate of 99.97% efficiency down to .3 microns; creating a hermitically sealed environment. By way of analogy, one can visualize the room as being completely contained in a zip lock bag. 

Our Negative Pressure Mail Rooms provide a controlled and contained internal environment that utilizes current technologies to help contain harmful agents while providing maximum protection to the personnel who are performing mail screening operations inside of the NPMR. 

The use of our NPMRs is unique in that they can be rapidly and easily retrofitted into most facilities, and typically require only minor facility modifications.
